The Company
Our client is a fast paced and demanding sourcing office with global operations.  They now have an exciting opportunity for a Product and Design Manager to join their busy Sri Lanka office working with the Womenswear team.  

Product and Design Manager - The Role:
 Develop a fantastic working relationship with the UK teams in order to provide advice and support on design concepts for new and existing products across a broad range of womenswear from heavy weight wovens to lingerie. 
 Work with the development team and support and motivate them to ensure service levels to the buyers are at its best at all times.
 Keep the internal teams and suppliers constantly informed and up to date on new trends, programmes, techniques and opportunities
 Constantly supply the UK teams with new techniques, ideas, wash projects, printing and factories.
 Fabric being key, constantly look at moving fabrics on and ensure a great range of textured to basic fabrics are put on the table at the beginning of every season.
 Work closely with the design team to ensure the right product is worked on in the region and fashion product offer is pushed.
 Support the development team on all aspects of development (design pack handover, factory choice, technique, production viability) to ensure the product offered to the UK will be the right product at the right price within the right lead time.
 Seek out new suppliers to constantly keep the offer fresh / new / cost effective.

Product and Design Manager  - The Candidate:
 Over 3 years of experience in the design/product development of womens casual jersey and wovens for the UK /European markets
- Must have graphic design capability for prints and embroidery/motifs
- Knowledge of fabric trends and the ability to work with fabric mills to develop new fabrics from swatches/bought garments
 Bachelor’s degree in a Fashion/Apparel related field
 Comprehensive technical knowledge for all your departmental areas including washed products
 Excellent command of both written and spoken English
 Strategic thinker to be able to offer a competitive edge
 Excellent planning skills, with ability to prioritize and achieve deadlines
 Have strong Leadership skills and be an exceptional team player and a decision maker
 Proactive, reliable and strong at multi-tasking
 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
 Ability to work under pressure and independently
 Strong analytical, negotiation and problem solving skills
 Excellent people management experience
