Job Description

The Company:
Our client is one of the leading suppliers of print and coatings within a group of businesses which supply soft furnishing products across the UK and Europe, and decorative curtain fabrics, upholstery fabrics and linings to the domestic and contract markets.  They now have a new opportunity for a Textile Technician to join their fabric team. 

Textile Technician  - The Role:

• Carry out routine testing on production samples and document accurately
• Ensure all colour continuities, standards and files are correct, tidy and current including any copies with suppliers etc
• Assist in maintaining and improve the internal Quality Management System
• Carry out internal audits in line with the Quality Management System
• Assist in ensuring internal operational procedures and work instructions are maintained and kept up to date
• Ensure claims are answered and dealt with in a timely manner
• Maintain and update internal product specifications
• Answer day to day technical queries
• Some writing of reports and investigation will be required regarding customer complaints
• Some time in inspection may also be required

Textile Technician - The Candidate:

• Educated to degree/college level (not essential) with experience in textile technology/fabric manufacturing (ideally around 2-3 years)
• Knowledge of Microsoft packages
• Good written and verbal communication skills are required
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage work priorities
• Processes that need to be understood over time include weaving, knitting, dyeing, printing, coating and finishing
• Good knowledge of testing procedures in the soft furnishing and upholstery market
