HOW TO ENSURE YOUR CV IS A SUCCESS!

Here at u&i Recruitment we have put together a guide to help you to create a successful CV!
Your CV is in your control so it’s important that you get it right to increase your chances of getting considered for the job that you are applying for!
These hints and tips will be helpful when you create or update your CV.
Start your CV with a header – mark your name and contact details down here, in terms of your contact details include your phone number, email and location or address. You can leave out information such as your D.O.B and marital status as they are not a priority compared to your contact details.
Next you should include a short and sweet personal statement. It doesn’t need to be any longer than a few lines or so. Just make sure you highlight your career aspiration and what skills you have to offer that are relevant to the job that you are applying for.
Now you should incorporate your career history. Start with your most recent position as this will make it easier for the recruiter to read. Also, consider putting your experience in sub-titles through headings such as relevant work experience and other experience. This will show that you have tailored your experience to the role that you are applying for. Within your career history you should provide basic details such as the company, dates and your job title. Also, provide a short summary or bullet point of your roles and responsibilities.
After your work experience you should include your education and qualifications.
The next sections are entirely up to you, a few suggestions would be to include a list of your skills, interests or hobbies and references. Just try not to go over two full pages of A4 otherwise the reader might loose interest.
