It’s been revealed that there are three questions that reveal everything to recruiters to see if you’re right for their business. Do you want to know what they are? YES. Keep reading then!

The three questions are;

1. How did you find out about the job?
2. What did you like about the job before you started?
3. Why did you leave?

These three questions are directly targeted at your current and previous jobs.

Surprisingly, these three questions reveal a lot more about you than you think.  Here’s why they reveal so much;

1. How did you find out about the job?

Vacancies tend to be found through job sites or a Google search. This isn’t a bad thing as most people find job opportunities through these platforms. But, if you continue to use general posting sites to find positions then you probably haven’t figured out what you want to do yet. If you find yourself applying for jobs based on the title and not the sector of the industry or vice versa then your passion and motivation will not shine through to the recruiter. They’ll think that you want the job until something better else comes along.

2.  What did you like about the job before you started?

The reason that you were interested in you previous or current position before you started should relate to the opportunity, chance to learn about the industry or the next step in your career. Throughout your career you’ll find you don’t work for the title or the salary you work because you love what you do and the working environment. This means that you know the type of environment that you love to work in and the roles that motivate and challenge you.

3. Why did you leave?

Often enough you’ll probably leave your job for a better opportunity or a higher salary. But it could be because your boss is very demanding or you don’t get along with your colleagues. By asking this question the recruiter gets you to open up and they’ll discover you as a person and what roles and responsibilities suit you.

By using these three simple questions within an interview recruiters see effective results which helps them to make a decision about you as a future employee.
