While many take the summer to relax and take a well earned break from the daily routine. 2020 has been slightly different for us all. There is a lot of concern within the industry and a lot of redundancies. Whether you are taking a staycation or are furloughed maybe now is a good time to re-evaluate. Take this time to think about your CV and how to update it to help you in a very difficult jobs market. The Summer is the perfect time to re-evaluating your career goals in general. Thinking about where you want to work next, and for updating your CV in time for the flurry of new job adverts that tend to be published in early September though is hard to predict this year. Whether you’re actively looking for work, or are open to being approached about new opportunities, it’s always a good idea to have an updated CV to hand. Not only does it save you time in the long run, but it also means you won’t miss out on any great opportunities. Regularly updating your CV can help you keep track of your achievements, notice areas you should improve within yourself, showcase your skills and save yourself time in the long run.
From a candidates point of view, summer is a great time to brush up your CV and update your Linkedin profile. Add any new skills or experience you have gained and make sure your training is bang up to date. Spend some time researching brands or companies you would like to work for and keep an eye on where they advertise.
