LinkedIn is like a professional social media page so make sure you are engaging with content and posting regularly. With more than 90% of recruiters using the platform as their primary search tool  (LinkedIn 2019)  you would be silly to not use it to your advantage.

Vet your social media

Your online presence is a reflection of yourself, make sure that all your social media platforms for example Instagram and Twitter are all professional, maybe search your name into google and see what skeletons appear. Alternatively, if you don’t wish to do this change your settings to private.

Act the interview

So you’ve got an interview (go you!) what now? Research research research! Make sure you are as prepared as you can be, study up on the company’s politics, check out their previous clients maybe a quick google of the employees. The more you know the better, this will express confidence and you will feel much more confident during the interview. Make sure you have prepared some questions to ask at the end of your interview about the company. This will give you a chance to display your genuine interest while also looking knowledgeable on the company.

Follow up

After you have attended the interview send the hiring manager or whoever you were interviewed with a quick email or phone call. Thank them for taking the time to talk to you and express again your interest in the position. While you wait for the response keep applying!
