As restrictions are finally lifting gradually, fashion trade shows are looking to be going ahead, but they are looking a lot different in 2021. Many are still taking place virtually, but some are going to be in person. This blog has a comprehensive list of all the fashion trade shows going ahead this year.

Fashion Trade Shows - Sourcing

These trade shows are used to source materials like fabric and trims, attend seminars, meet factories and sample makers, and are mainly for production-focused industry professionals. You can attend these shows for free.

  • New York Fabric Show: Offers an exhibit of fabric and trimmings for designers, retailers, and manufacturers.

  • Texworld USA: This is the largest sourcing event in America for designers and fabric buyers. The event is scheduled for July 20th-21st and is completely digital this year.

  • Sourcing at Magic: A fashion-sourcing event where attendees have the access to global resources and gain insight into trends in the technology industry.

  • Kingpins: This show will happen across various cities and the dates are yet to be confirmed, but this show offers a tight list of sellers including denim and sportswear fabric from across the globe.

  • LA Textile Show: Showcasing a multitude of international fabric collections, this show is the premier destination for textile, design, and production resources. The show will take place in person from September 29th to October 1st.

  • CFE Manufacturers Trade Show: This allows attendees to meet more than 20 manufacturers and supporting services, browse an assortment of exhibitors, and book one-to-one appointments for enterprises.

  • Source Africa: Source Africa is the leading event of its kind. It brings together manufacturers, suppliers, and buyers all under one roof. Taking place in Cape Town, with dates to be announced.

Fashion Trade Shows - Selling

Selling trade shows allow attendees to get new wholesale accounts, meet fellow designers and press. These shows have a cost to attend them.

  • Coterie: This is the premier global event for women’s clothing, accessories and shoe design. It builds exclusive shopping experiences so that brands and buyers can create synergies to boost their businesses.

  • Capsule: Capsule normally holds a women’s show in New York, that features a mix of independent labels and industry favourites. The event this year will be virtual, with dates announced soon.

  • Agenda: With over 1,000 brands, Agenda is the most diverse trade show, and comes to LA in August.

  • AccessoriesTheShow: This trade show is New York’s largest marketplace for accessories of every season. The dates are yet to be determined.

  • The Lingerie Selection: This show is dedicated to independent and growing lingerie brands. The show connects buyers and brands, and creates a sense of community amongst professionals. The event will take place in New York, with dates to be announced.

  • KnowShow: This is Canada’s premier trade show and normally takes place in Vancouver, though the end will be digital for 2021.

  • Scoop: This trade show primarily focuses on designer womenswear in East London, and takes place from 12th-14th September.

With all these trade shows going ahead this year, whether that be virtually or in person, it’s worth your time to try and attend one and make the most of the restrictions being lifted. The aspect of virtual shows does make it easier to attend, even if you miss out on the overall buzz of a physical show.
