Job Description

Our client is one of the longest standing textile manufacturers in the region, and over almost 200 years they have evolved into a leading global supplier of technical textiles across a variety of markets, including medical, protective, automotive and military. They are now looking for a strong Administrator to support the Technical and Quality teams in data processing, co-ordinating technical project activities and getting involved in the practical textile testing of fabrics.

Quality & Technical Administrator - The Role:

  • Responsibility for compliance checking and confirming the new orders and checking 3rd party suppliers’ invoices against the purchase orders and dye bill.
  • Producing, maintaining, the key technical databases.
  • Support the customer complaint process and investigation process, with occasional need for customer interaction.
  • Progress chasing of routine testing work, and external dyeing / finishing / testing labs.
  • Support the New Product Development and Continuing developments.
  • Participate in QA / QC related activities where required, this may include producing reports, conducting audits, maintenance of records and participating in projects and other activities.
  • Oversee greige and finished fabric inspection.
  • Prepare technical information to support sales team and for exhibitions.
  • To undertake additional tasks and responsibilities which can reasonably be expected of the role, as necessary to achieve the objectives of the department and company goals.
  • Ensure relevant databases are maintained and up-to-date.
  • Administrative support for knitting specification and dyeing and finishing routes.
  • Administrative support for NCP, CC, COQ, and product specifications processes.
  • Project management coordination and report writing.
  • Train up to become a member of the audit team the undertake 9001 and 14001 and offer ongoing support to the Quality Assurance department.
  • Multi-project coordination across new technologies, materials, and processes.

 Quality & Technical Administrator - The Candidate:

  • You should be able to write excellent and brief reports using Microsoft Word as appropriate.
  • You should be able to create standard Microsoft Excel documents for use in lab reporting, able to input data and create charts / graphs.
  • You should be hands-on, flexible, and adaptable in a fast-changing work environment.
  • You will have excellent communication skills.
  • You should have a methodical and organised approach, within a formal project-driven environment.
  • You will have good interpersonal skills.
  • You will be able to maintain a customer facing focus.
  • Experience of a laboratory or manufacturing environment is desired.
  • Knowledge of textiles is desired.
