Job Description

Our client is a highly successful privately owned business with two premium womenswear brands focused on contemporary design in natural fabrics. Bricks and mortar retail is a key part of their future growth plans and as such, merchandising is going to be critical for them to maximise return on investment. Therefore they are seeking someone to take on a new role, responsible for managing the Store Merchandising for one of their brands.

Store Merchandiser – The Role:

  • Allocating stock to the stores, at the beginning of each season and for the regular features throughout the season.
  • Recalling non-performing options to make room for new options.
  • Reviewing the daily replenishment of each store.
  • Developing the strategy for store merchandising, differentiating between core product and seasonal newness.
  • Developing auto-replenishment rules.
  • Co-ordinating stock checks.
  • Liaising with store managers to better understand demand at each store.
  • Providing feedback to the design and product development team.
  • Co-ordinating stock for window displays.
  • Managing supply of uniform for store staff.
  • Working closely with and supporting the Brand merchandiser.
  • Develop a full understanding of the supply chain, including the Distribution Centre in the East Midlands.  Consider total supply chain costs when making decisions.
  • Make sure decisions are clearly communicated and efficiently executed through the supply chain.
  • Store visits – weekly in London, seasonally to New York.

Store Merchandiser – The Candidate:

  • As this is a new role, the ideal candidate will be able to understand the dynamics of supply and demand, think critically and propose new systems and ways of working.
  • A proactive self-starter, happy working independently.
  • Able to combine quantitative analysis with intuition and judgement.
  • Confident in using Excel.
  • A good communicator with good listening skills, liaising between the store managers, product development and the brand merchandiser.
  • Proactive and independent.
  • Happy to travel to DC and stores.

Store Merchandiser – The Package:

  • Highly competitive salary DOE
  • Discount on product
