Woven Textile Designer

Our client is a privately-owned fashion business with two brands focused on creating unique and beautiful clothes, exclusively in natural fibres.  The design and marketing is done by a small talented team collaborating in their London design studio. Woven Textile Designer - The Role:

• The role combines design and product development - requiring someone who is both creative and organised. 
• Working as part of a close-knit team of designers and product developers to design, develop and realise each seasonal collection.
• This role specifically is to lead colour and woven textiles for the range. Separating colour and creating multiple colour-ways for team selection.
• Artwork specs for tech packs 
• Regularly liaising with suppliers to manage samples and bulk swatches
• Responsible for colour development within the range, including seasonal palettes, lab-dips, woven handlooms and knit-downs
• Trim allocation and development 
• Assisting with planning and styling for the photo-shoots
• Sourcing accessories and footwear
• Working with reprographics to help colour-match the images

Woven Textile Designer - The Candidate:

• A degree in Textile Design or related field
• Computer and Photoshop skills are essential for this role. Illustrator and InDesign would be useful.
• Textile design and development - experience in wovens, knit & embroidery beneficial
• Strong eye and confidence using colour
• Knowledge of fabrics and textile techniques
• Highly organised individual that can act with initiative
• Strong ability to articulate ideas
