Job Description
Our client is a family owned, fast growing business based in Leicester. They are also Europe's largest licensed apparel and accessories suppliers to high street and online fashion retailers. They have over 22 years of experience in the licensing industry and have considerable knowledge and contacts within the licensing arena, that enables them to stay at the forefront of the licensing industry. They have a comprehensive portfolio of key global brands covering everything from babywear to kids to adult on daywear, nightwear, outerwear, essentials, swimwear and accessories including bags, hats, gloves, watches, umbrellas, jewellery and footwear.
They are now looking for an organised and meticulous Import/wholesale merchandiser to join their team.
Import Merchandiser/Product Developer - The Role:
- Be confident in negotiating prices with factories and customers
- Raising new orders internally and sending to overseas factory / In country merchandisers
- Checking all details on customer contracts to ensure correct details
- Liaising with factories / in country merchandisers on a daily basis, on email & phone with regards to approvals/rejections
- Updating and analysing internal and customer critical paths
- Conducting weekly skype calls with factories
- Sending sample submissions – Lab dips/strike offs to the customer
- Ensure good coordination between licensing department and QC department with sample approvals
- Liaising with logistics department to ensure goods are delivered on time
- Liaising with design department if any design issues & to request high resolution artwork to send to the factory.
- Checking label artworks, and giving approval to factory
- Identifying production issues and dealing with any problems that arise
- Ability to read test reports & send production pieces to the lab
- Maintain a strong customer relationship
- Attend customer meetings
Import Merchandiser/Product Developer - The Candidate:
- The candidate must be highly organised with strong attention to detail
- At least 1-2 years’ experience within the fashion industry on merchandising, product development or production administration based role
- Ability to work under pressure & cope with tight deadlines whilst multitasking.
- A keen problem solver with an eye for detail and accuracy
- The candidate must have a proactive and positive approach and willing to learn and adapt to a growing business
- Have experience and competent in Microsoft Office packages and Outlook.
- Ensuring a smooth handover and strong communications between departments
