Job Description

Our client is a highly successful privately owned business with two premium womenswear brands focused on contemporary design in natural fabrics. Bricks and mortar retail is a key part of their future growth plans and as such, merchandising is going to be critical for them to maximise return on investment. Therefore they are seeking someone to support their merchandising team across all channels.

Assistant Merchandiser – The Role:

•    Responsible for trading specified product categories. Analysing sales performance and proposing in-season repeats, whilst bearing in mind terminal stock risks.
•    Propose buying strategies for different fabric groups and styles based on understanding of supply chain.
•    Monitoring stock level on continuity lines, always ensuring high stock availability by sku on these styles.
•    Maintaining efficient working relationships with key stakeholders, such as Product Development department, Planning team and suppliers. Support Merchandiser in tracking inventory into the business and proposing solutions to manage delays.
•    Complete size ratios on purchases orders. Evaluating historic sales data to establish optimum size curve by style and category to ensure good stock availability by sku. 
•    Providing ad-hoc administrative support to Merchandiser.
•    Supporting Merchandiser in bi-weekly trading meetings in presenting lessons learnt on best & worst performers based on marketing activities and identifying opportunities and risks.
•    Help to maximise sales in flagship stores through optimum product mix and availability.
•    Responsible for updating store weekly reports used for allocation and recalls.
•    Conducting London based store visits on a weekly basis. Discuss with store managers stock requests and missed opportunities and review actions required.
•    Co-ordinating store feature allocation. Work closely with the warehouse team to ensure stock packages are delivered to stores in a timely manner.
•    Action appropriate store recalls based on slow moving styles and no. of weeks.
•    Assist Merchandisers in proofing catalogues, safeguarding accuracy of content advertised and flag errors and discrepancies to the graphics team to amend.
•    Checking web product pages pre-season launch, safeguarding accuracy of content advertised and flag errors and discrepancies to Web team to amend.

Assistant Merchandiser – The Candidate:

•    Ability to blend numerical analysis with intuition
•    Independent, confident and proactive thinker
•    Clear and concise communications skills with all stakeholders of the business
•    Excellent time management ability to organise workload and deadlines
•    Previous experience using Excel
•    Work well as part of a team
•    Excellent attention to detail
