Job Description

Our client is a fantastic supplier, shipping over 60 million garments per year to a diverse range of customers across the UK, USA, Europe, India, South Africa and Australia.  Their unique approach combines innovation in design, excellence in manufacturing and robust cost management and are underpinned by market-leading sustainable practices that run deep unto their DNA.  Their UK design office is now looking for a strong trend driven designer across multi product areas.  This role offers the opportunity to work in a hybrid capacity with both office and remote work flexibility.

Childrenswear Designer - The Role: 

  • Design multi-product kidswear and/or babywear for a broad range of UK retailers and brands.
  • Collaborate with the design team to create seasonal collections aligned with the latest trends.
  • Work proactively on product development, adapting to market changes and customer demands.
  • Create detailed technical packs for production, ensuring accuracy in designs and clear specifications.
  • Present designs and concepts to customers in a clear and professional manner.
  • Confidently translate trend research to inform customer-specific designs.
  • Work on proprietary brand development, conceptualising new capsule collections for incremental growth.
  • Collaborate with our overseas design and production teams to ensure design intent is maintained through to finished products.

Childrenswear Designer - The Candidate:

  • 2-3 years of experience working for a supplier and/or retailer in a relevant design role.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Deep understanding of trend forecasting, fabric innovation, and product development.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, particularly in customer-facing situations.
  • Ability to create precise, detailed technical packs.
  • Experience in brand concept work preferred, but not essential.
  • Graphic design experience in kidswear or related fields also a great addition but not essential.
