Job Description

Our client designs and sources product via their global network of offices and suppliers; negotiating market leading prices; securing the fastest lead times and managing production to ensure fantastic product is safely delivered on time. They are now seeking a Technical Manager with strong knitwear experience to join their busy team in Bangladesh. 

Knitwear Technical Manager - The Role:

  • Reporting to the Senior Technical Manager, you will have a pivotal role working closely with the UK Technical team, as well as our own Product Development, Merchandising and Quality teams and Suppliers, to ensure all sample developments and production garments meet the required expectations of our customer.
  • You will provide expert advice to our Technical team and supply base to ensure all products perform to exacting standards.
  • Mentor and develop the Technical team and existing / new suppliers to ensure they meet our expectations in terms of accurate interpretation of design packs, sample and production quality, cost, speed of response and on-time delivery.
  • Train and discipline the Technical Team, as required, to follow all procedures and to communicate effectively to the UK teams.
  • Work closely with all internal departments within the business (such as Product Managers, Merchandising, Fabric Technical and Sourcing) to give the best possible service to the business in terms of quality, design, speed and price.
  • Communicate with the customers' UK Technical teams regularly to discuss development progress and share information on new initiatives / techniques and cost saving ideas.
  • Closely monitor the Knitwear technical team to ensure they fully understand the product, safety requirements, fitting, fabric performance, sampling process, production procedures, and quality / safety standards, as well as monitoring and reporting on UK Warehouse failures and customer returns.
  • Establish and maintain robust working procedures with suppliers. Ensure all procedures comply with requirements.
  • Help to make commercial decisions, whenever necessary, in conjunction with Fabric and Merchandising teams and in line with expectations and requirements.


Knitwear Technical Manager - The candidate:

  • Expertise in all aspects of knitwear to help optimise manufacturing processes and efficiency savings without compromising the integrity of the product.
  • Specific yarn and spinning knowledge, preferably having worked with Chinese spinners.
  • Experience and understanding of all types of Knitting machines and techniques
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to demonstrate strong leadership skills and establish solid working relationships with the UK Technical, Merchandising and Development teams.
